RED tag
Tag to identify relevant events
Goal
The RED tag project is proposed as a piece of intelligent logistics, combining IoT, Big Data and Machine Learning technologies to extract information and acquire knowledge on the logistics process in order to decrease, through predictive logistics, waste and damage of the goods transported.
Target markets
- Logistics
Start
2017

Call
Project included in the strategic research agenda 2016 of the ICT Innovation Pole, funded under the 2016 "Innovation Poles" Call, Line A, POR FESR 2014-2020 of Piedmont and carried out with the help of resources from the European Development Fund Regional (ERDF), the Italian State and the Piedmont Region.
Expected result
The project is based on extremely inexpensive tags, even in a disposable version, of reduced size and self-configurable according to the regulations in force. RED tags record falls, shocks, temperature, inclination and humidity with great accuracy, thanks to theoretical and experimental studies. The data produced is collected on the backend via mobile applications. Machine learning algorithms and in-depth statistics, combined with innovative and configurable dashboards, allow complete control of each logistic process.
Why is it innovative?
The project involves the creation of an IoT platform based on a single device, small, cheap, highly configurable, supported by machine learning and applicable in different markets such as logistics, rail, assistance.
Who uses it and how does it change people’s lives?
The project has a transversal audience:
- Buyers can use it to increase the security and traceability of purchases.
- Sellers to provide added service, attract more customers and improve the choice of partner carriers and transport routes.
- The production chains for quality, safety and production controls.
- The innovative logistics chains in combination with drones and self-driving devices.
