Newcom Winter School 2006

Bridging Wireless Ideas to High Potential Start-ups

NewcomCourses will be held in Torino in March 6th-10th 2006.

Who should attend

The course is addressed to:

  • Participants from the Newcom European Wireless Business Idea Competition “Mario Boella”, who want to bring their ideas to the next stage of business development.
  • Researchers from Newcom academic partners, focused on wireless technology, who need managerial competencies to develop a business plan.
  • Executive and researchers from Newcom industries, who need to deepen their knowledge about business planning processes in the wireless sector.
  • Researchers and executives from other networks/projects active in wireless technology topics.

Application and fee

Companies that are going to apply for 2006 Newcom Winter School have to send to Torino Wireless the description of their business/product idea, using the following application form:

The tuition fee for companies that belong to the network of Torino Wireless (Newcom member) is 120 euro per person, instead of 960 euro. VAT, lunches and gala dinner included, accomodation and travel expenses not included.

Places are limited so application requests will be selected.

NEWCOM (Network of Excellence in Wireless COMmunications) aims at creating a European network, with 60 partners and more than 800 researchers, that links in a cooperative way a large number of leading research groups addressing the Strategic Objective “Mobile and wireless systems beyond 3G”, a frontier research area of the Priority Thematic Area of IST (Information Society Technologies).

Newcom Business Plan Competition

The action aimed at stimulating the enterpreneurial attitude of international researchers and at offering the opportunity to have an exchange of ideas with people involved in the field of wireless technologies.

Companies of the Torino Wireless cluster that will apply for Newcom Winter School will also be admitted to this competition.
