Beta-BP
Betacom Braille Printer
Although technically the printer is able to print sheet and text all together, this involves a long processing time and a waste of energy to die-cast the material. Instead, the idea to be analyzed is the possibility of printing only the part of information concerning the Braille characters, using ready-made and industrially constructed sheets of plastic material. In this way the printing procedure is limited to very few points, making the process faster and cheaper. The challenge is to make sure that the two materials bond correctly, and that it is also possible to cancel the sheet by removing the points so that both the base and the material used as “ink” can be reused. It will therefore be necessary to study the materials used by the printers and then identify which combinations are actually usable.
